31 Magazine Ladies I am so excited to introduce you to this dynamic Becoming Proverbs 31 Woman!
She is the Founder of Bliss Women & New Author of Always Abounding! Please meet Taja Fox.
Taja, Thank you so much for talking with us! Before we dig in, our readers would like to get to know you a bit more. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm the Founder of Bliss Women, an online health and wellness community fostering personal growth and empowerment for women. I was raised in a Christian home, and my faith has always been integral to my life. I am part of the Young Women's Planning Ministry and Fundraising Committee at my church, the Salvation Army North Street Citadel. I believe God has given me the gift of writing to share His truth and love with others. As a Journalism graduate, I've had the opportunity to write for local and international publications ranging from lifestyle and fashion to parenting. My faith has influenced my passion for writing and guided me to write a book on persevering in faith.
My book publishing journey was an emotional, eye-opening, and rewarding process. Initially, I planned to publish my book in 2022. However, my husband and I experienced the loss of several family members one week after another, which caused me to question my faith and lose the desire to publish the book. It took a year and a half of writing, editing, and refining my devotional book, Always Abounding, before publishing. I started by journaling prayers to God and later writing daily devotionals, and eventually, I felt led to share them with others. I noticed patterns and themes in my prayer journal and devotionals, so I shared a few with friends and family. I received positive feedback and encouragement, motivating me to publish my book. I went through the self-publishing process, which involved a lot of research, a few moments of me second-guessing if I should publish the book, and many peer edits. I learned so much about myself and gained a great community. Always Abounding is a testament to God's faithfulness and provision. He opened doors, provided opportunities, and gave me the strength to keep going even when there were moments of doubt. I am grateful for the journey and pray that my book will continue to bless others.
Can you tell us a bit about your book?
Always Abounding is a 21-day devotional book designed to help readers grow deeper in their relationship with God. The book is sectioned into themes, with each day focusing on a relatable topic, such as relationships, forgiveness, gratitude, and more.
The devotions are rooted in biblical truth and designed to be practical and applicable to everyday life. Each day includes a Scripture passage, a short reflection, and application questions to help readers apply the message to their lives. My hope for Always Abounding is to inspire readers to live a life that is always abounding in the work of the Lord, as the apostle Paul encourages us to do in 1 Corinthians 15:58.
Please share why you decided to write a book.
I decided to write Always Abounding because I felt a strong calling from God to
share His truth and love with others through my writing. As I mentioned earlier, I have always had a passion for writing, and I believe God gave me this gift for a specific purpose. I've always had a role in media and writing since primary school. I recall being part of the school's news network, sharing the announcements and lunch menu for the day. In my time at University, I've written poetry, became a staff writer for my University's newspaper, and was also the Yearbook Editor in my senior year at University. So I felt compelled to use my writing skills to encourage and inspire others in their faith journey. These past few years, and even today, have been challenging for many of us, and I believe that the messages God has given me to help me navigate those tough moments could be equally helpful to others. I wanted to create a devotional book that would help readers deepen their faith and grow closer to God while providing a practical application for their daily lives. My decision to write Always Abounding was driven by my desire to use my gifts and talents for God's glory and to serve others. Writing this book was part of God's plan for my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share His truth and love with others.
How has your faith been Challenged or Strengthened in your journey from the start to the completion of your book?
Sometimes I faced doubt, fear, and uncertainty, wondering if my writing was good enough or if I could see the project through to completion, and in the midst of that, I was grieving the loss of loved ones. I had to rely on my faith and trust in God's plan. I spent a lot of time praying, seeking God's guidance and direction for my writing and the publishing process. I also turned to Scripture, finding comfort and encouragement in passages that reminded me of God's faithfulness and provision. I witnessed God's hand and presence throughout the publishing process.
Sometimes, it seemed like obstacles were blocking my path, but God always provided a way through
He brought the right people into my life at the right time, opened doors of opportunity, and provided the resources to see the project through to completion. My journey of writing and publishing Always Abounding has been a test of faith, but it has also been a reminder of God's faithfulness and provision.
How did you manage your time and resources to accomplish your goal of launching this book?
This is such a great question, as there were many days when I struggled to write at all. What worked best for me was remaining flexible and adapting to the circumstances at the time. If I couldn't write, I listened to worship songs and researched other book-writing strategies that eventually inspired me to pick up where I left off. Also, getting an accountability partner and setting aside dedicated writing time helped me manage my time and resources. No matter what I went through, I continued to do something that would work toward publishing my book.
What Values, Declarations, and Scriptures got you through your seasons of launch until now?
I have to say faith, humility, and gratitude. I had to trust in God's plan for my life and believe He would see me through every step of the publishing process.
Still, I also had to remain humble and recognize that my success resulted from God's grace and provision.
I am blessed to have the opportunity to write and publish a book. So many days, I had to remind myself and declare God's will be done. And although it was difficult at times, I tried to stay grateful for every step of the journey. Colossians 2:7 formed the foundation of my book. This verse speaks to the importance of being deeply rooted in Christ, allowing our lives to be built on Him and His truth. When we do so, our faith grows stronger, and we are filled with gratitude and thankfulness. A few other Scriptures that have kept me going are:
Joshua 1:9 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
What tips can you share on being a young Proverbs 31 Woman in this modern world?
Living as a Proverbs 31 Woman can be challenging in today's world. However, before I share any tips, I want to remind every woman reading this that being a Proverbs 31 Woman means living out God's will for your life every day and approaching each day with purpose. In doing so, I encourage you to:
Seek God first. Before anything, seek God first in all that you do. Make Him the focus and center of your life, and everything else will fall into place.
Serve others. Have a servant's heart and look for opportunities to serve in your community to make a difference in the lives of those around you.
Have a Godly support system. Surround yourself with other God-fearing women who share your values and can offer encouragement and support as you navigate life's challenges.
Pursue your passions: God has given us unique talents and gifts. Use them to pursue your passions and live out your purpose.
