Magazine 31 readers let me introduce you to an outstanding Becoming Proverbs 31 Woman, please meet Gina Spence! Gina is a mother, wife, Dancer, and CEO of Gina Spence Productions Charity. She is all about giving back and building up her local communities.

Gina, thank you so much for talking with us! Before we dig in, our readers would like to get to know you a bit more.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I have just celebrated 45 years of Community Service. I am married to Ronald Virgil, I have 3 daughters Greashena, Edwina, and Mychel. I have 5 grandchildren. I am a Christian and love to worship God in praise through dance.

Was starting a charity something you always wanted to do?

No, I always enjoyed the performing arts and also helping people. Charity work was the next step in achieving that goal.

Can you share with us your journey to registering your charity and getting it ready for community impact?

The journey involved in preparing to become a registered charity was a long process, as it involved creating a board of directors and meeting the registered charity status and regulations. It also involved developing a plan and strategy, fundraising, and good governance.

Did you encounter a lot of hurdles throughout your journey to starting your charity?

No, not really. I was able to invite people to join my team who had a passion for helping at-risk families and providing outreach programs to the community. They also had various expertise in administration, financing, legal, and non-profit.

What are your greatest joys from the community work you have done over the years?

My greatest joy is seeing families restored. I also have enjoyed having children whom we have helped give back by volunteering for our charity and helping others.

Can you share how this journey challenged and strengthened your Faith in Christ?

My faith has been strengthened through my journey as I have seen God meet the needs of our charity and provide for hundreds of families in many ways. I have also seen families and volunteers give their lives to Jesus Christ as a result of our charity and community outreach programs. My faith has been challenged as I have had to trust God completely on many occasions to get through some of the challenges I have faced during my 45 years of being an advocate for the less fortunate.

What values, declarations, and scriptures kept you from season to season?

My Mother taught me to be respectful, honest and always give to help others. There are many scriptures I have had to speak over my life during my life journey, one of my favorites is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."(Philippians 4:13)

What tips can you share on being a Proverbs 31 Woman in this modern world? I would encourage women to spend time in the Word daily. Develop a deep relationship with God and make sure prayer is a critical part of everything that you do. Also, surround yourself with positive like-minded people, and lastly get a spiritual mentor to share ideas, pray and support you in your journey.

How do you balance your career & ministries while taking care of your family?

I have also put God first, followed by family, career, and ministry. Time management is also important as well, as rest, healthy eating, exercise, and "me" time.

Thank you, so much for sharing your inspiring journey with us!
