Prayerful Reflections: The Secret Place

Excerpt from my prayer journal taken from November 8, 2017 entry.

If I could explain the Secret place, with God, I would explain it as complete and utter stillness. It feels like liquid peace that you can breathe. In that place, there is no world, no bad, nothing to fear, just me and God, and I'm His whole world and He is mine. Everything else is shut out and there is only peace, joy, protection, and God's perfect untainted atmosphere. There are no negative thoughts, there are only thoughts of how safe I am in God's overwhelming love for me. I am so safe in that place, there are no looming disappointments, no scary events that may rock my life, only me and God. In the secret place with God, I'm like a child laying on my daddy's lap, experiencing His liquid love, so tangible, so obvious. In the Secret place, I am His entire world, and He's mine, no one else shares that place with us, it's like a whole world where only God and I live, and I can spend hours there.

Today, during my prayer time with the Lord I saw something that looked like a garden, it had natural hot springs and beautiful trees. I was playing in the springs and God was sitting on the side watching over me and I was a child. In that vision I was so free, enjoying the presence of God, fascinated by water! This world and all its worries and fears meant nothing to me in God's secret place, there is absolute peace there. When I spend time there with my Father, I emerge absolutely full of peace, and the world makes sense to me again. Everything is put back right, this world with all its sin and violence is the lie, and I am able to understand that God's realm full of peace, love, and rest is the truth. Being there empowers me to walk in peace and love and to exhibit it with those around me. Find your Secret place with God, the bible says in Psalms 91:1, my favorite scripture " He that dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." If you want to abide in peace, love, rest, and righteousness, then dwell in the Secret Place with God. Cultivate a Secret place of prayer, and meditating on God's word with the Most-High God, it will change your life.
